Pin-Upera - a non traditional approach to the opera tradition

Pin-Upera was founded by Signe Sneh Schreiber and Kasper Sejersen.

To Pin-Up the good ideas! Pin-Upera brings the traditional storytelling form of opera to children of all ages through new, more approachable operatic renditions of fairy tails and stories.

Clumsy Hans – a mini opera

Pin-Upera’s current production, Clumsy Hans was part of The Royal Danish Theatre’s 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 season. It was also part of the Copenhagen Opera Festival 2014. Pin-Upera is currently planning a tour for summer 2015 to New York City with this production.

Clumsy Hans is a musical reinterpretation of a classic Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale of the same name. It includes a number of famous arias from different operas and was recently translated to English. During the performance's 40 minutes, the audience is toured through the world of opera with music by Carl Nielsen, G. Puccini, L. Bernstein and R. Strauss. All text has been reworked to tell a new; and hopefully funny, story.
Clumsy Hans is written for children 3 years old and up.

The opera is directed by Kasper Sejersen. The roles are performed by Signe Sneh Schreiber and Mads Bagge Lange.
